Strong Passwords

How to Create Strong Passwords that are Easy to Remember but Hard to Break

I don’t need to tell you the importance of using strong passwords when creating user accounts online. Passwords are keys to accessing your online accounts or your computer. Using strong passwords are vital in protecting your identity and stopping others from hijacking your account. In this Post I have shared a trick to create strong but memorable passwords that I learned a few days ago.

What is password strength?

According to WikiPedia:

Password strength is a measurement of the effectiveness of a password as an authentication credential. Specifically, it estimates how many trials an attacker who does not have direct access to the password would need, on average, to correctly guess it. The strength of a password is a function of length, complexity, and randomness.
How to create a Strong Password?

We all know the common guidelines for choosing a strong password:

Include numbers, symbols, upper and lowercase letters
Password should be more than 8 characters long.
Avoid any password based on repetition, dictionary words, letter or number sequences, usernames, relative or pet names, or biographical information (birth day).
Now the problem with creating random strong passwords are that they are very hard to remember. So once you start having to memorize a number of them it gets virtually impossible to keep them all memorized. There are a few tricks that you can follow to create strong memorable passwords. I learned one strong and memorable password creation trick last week that I am going to share in this post.

The Password Phrase method

The phrase method is an easy way to remember complicated passwords that are hard to crack.

Use the Phrase Method:
Choose a phrase that has numbers.
Use only the first letter in each word.
Use the proper case for each letter, just as it appears in the phrase.
Use actual numbers whenever possible. Use “2″ for “two” or “to” and “4″ for “four” or “for.”
Include punctuation.
Lets take the following phrase as an example:

My flight to New York will leave at three in the afternoon!
Using the Password Phrase method explained above, the password becomes:

MftNYwla3ita!
Don’t remember the password, just remember the phrase.

You can see that this Password abides by the Strong Password Creation rule and it is also easy to remember!

You can even use a phrase as the password if the system allows you to enter a phrase. For example the following phrase will make a strong password.

I prefer to go to bed by 10:00!

Wrinkle Skin Care

Dermatologists have several options available for wrinkle removal.

Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth are a normal part of the aging process. Wrinkles occur naturally as subcutaneous fat and skin elasticity is lost. The face having a much shallower layer of subcutaneous tissue is one of the first places that wrinkles will appear. Add in the damage that frequent sun exposure does to the skin and it is now wonder that many women have skin that makes them look older than they really are.

Luckily women (and men) now have several options available for wrinkle removal. While not as long lasting as plastic surgery (facelifts) they do offer a solution for the short term, with fewer risks. If wrinkles are a concern, discuss these options with your dermatologist.

Botox
Botox injections have been in use about 10 years for the short-term treatment of fines lines and wrinkles in the face. Botox works by relaxing the muscles and making the line disappear. Some of the common areas treated include crow's feet, frown lines, laugh lines, and forehead wrinkles. The effects of Botox usually last about 3 - 6 months and can then be repeated. Although Botox is a protein toxin produced by the clostridium botulinum bacteria it is injected in such small amounts that its effects remain localized. It has very few side effects

Collagen
Collagen is a natural protein that acts as the support structure of the skin. In young skin, the collagen framework is intact and the skin remains moisturized and elastic. Over time, however, the support structure weakens and the skin loses elasticity. Dermatologists have used injectable bovine collagen for over 25 years. Used primarily as a tissue filler to soften lines around the mouth, it has also been used successfully to augment lips, correct the early degrees of muscle loss around the mouth associated with aging, and erase acne scars. Like Botox its effects are temporary and normally last about 3-4 months. About 10% of the population is allergic to bovine collagen, so skin tests must be done before it can be used for wrinkle removal.

Fat
Autologous fat transfer is a wrinkle filler procedure in which fat is removed from one part of the body, such as the thighs, buttocks or stomach, via tumescent liposuction and used to fill in deeper wrinkles and contour the "hills and valleys" associated with aging. Since a patient's own fat is used in the procedure, there are no allergic reactions associated with this type of filler. This is a more involved procedure because fat is removed from one part of the body and added to another. The results are not permanent, as loss of facial subcutaneous fat is a natural part of the aging process, no matter where that fat originated.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid is a soft tissue filler that has been used with much success in Canada and Europe. It is being studied in the United States but has not yet received FDA approval. Hyaluronic acid is a gel that is actually a natural occurring and basic component of human skin. The gel serves to "float" the skin cells rather than fill in vacant wrinkles, which makes hyaluronic acid suitable for larger folds of skin around the mouth and cheeks. Studies show a low incidence of allergic reaction and with longer action. Results tend to last up to six to nine months.

Overall these procedures carry much lower risk than surgery. These procedures are considered cosmetic, with no health benefits (other than to self-esteem) and generally not covered by insurance or Medicare.

8 actions to promote your new website or blogs

Below, 8 actions to promote your new website or blogs for free:

1. Ask visitors to bookmark your site. A quick, low-cost strategy is to simply ask your visitors to bookmark your site, or save it in a "Favorites" list. Visitors who've bookmarked your site can find it faster and are more likely to visit again. The best way to get these visitors to return is to make regular updates to your site.

2. Take advantage of others' forums and blogs. There are innumerable forums, discussion lists, blogs and news groups online. These are comprised of people with specialized interests. As such, you'll be able to find quite a few that are dedicated to what you're selling. Register and post about your online business.

3. Start a blog. Weblogs give you the opportunity to provide your visitors with new -- perhaps more personal or pointed -- content. Let your visitors know what's going on with your store. Or, if you're interesting (or even if not), let them know what you're doing. (Just don't write about the weather that day.)

4. Exchange banners and links with complementary sites. Contact others whose sites are related to yours, and exchange banners and other ads. Remember that there is a difference between competition and complementary sites. Competitive sites aim to take your visitors and your business. Complementary sites sell products that complement the ones you sell -- they do not sell the same products you do. These help you reach a new audience. For example, if you run a DVD store, think about contacting sites that sell DVD players. Customers buying DVD players are going to need DVDs at some point.

5. Get visitors to subscribe to a mailing list. Visitors who sign up to receive e-mails from you are already interested in what you have to offer. It's up to you to entice them to come back and become customers.

6. Send promotions, coupons, updates and offers to your customers. Existing customers are a valuable market for you. Solicit your customers to return by rewarding them with coupons and offers. Keep them interested with updates. You've already reached them -- it's up to you to give them a reason to come back.

7. Tell your friends. Word spreads quickly. Word of mouth is the most effective way to promote and advertise your store. It's as easy as it sounds. Tell your friends -- they're the most difficult customers for your competition to take away from you.

8. Send out online press releases. Press releases are a great way to get some low-cost exposure on your Web site and build up your reverse links for search engine optimization. While purchasing media lists is a consideration, it is not a necessary expense. With some good, old-fashioned detective work, you can find the right contacts. Read your target publications to find appropriate contacts. Their e-mail addresses are usually listed beneath their byline. For follow up, you can usually find the main number on the publication's Web site. If you're following up with a local publication, just pick up the yellow pages.

5 Tools Monitoring the Success of Your Blog or Website

1. Google Analytics

Google Analytics has become the preferred option among free statistics programs. With FeedBurner you can always see how many subscribers you have and how many of them are clicking through from your feed to your site.

12 google search syntax

Here are 12 syntax can improve accuracy of your search result:

1. intitle:
intitle: restricts your search to the titles of web pages. The variation, allintitle: finds pages wherein all the words specified make up the title of the web page. It's probably best to avoid the allintitle: variation, because it doesn't mix well with some of the other syntaxes.

intitle:"george bush"
allintitle:"money supply" economics

2. inurl:
inurl: restricts your search to the URLs of web pages. This syntax tends to work well for finding search and help pages, because they tend to be rather regular in composition. An allinurl: variation finds all the words listed in a URL but doesn't mix well with some other special syntaxes.

inurl:help
allinurl:search help

3. intext:
intext: searches only body text (i.e., ignores link text, URLs, and titles). There's an allintext: variation, but again, this doesn't play well with others. While its uses are limited, it's perfect for finding query words that might be too common in URLs or link titles.

intext:"yahoo.com"
intext:html

4. inanchor:
inanchor: searches for text in a page's link anchors. A link anchor is the descriptive text of a link. For example, the link anchor in the HTML code O'Reilly and Associates is "O'Reilly and Associates."

inanchor:"tom peters"

5. site:
site: allows you to narrow your search by either a site or a top-level domain. AltaVista, for example, has two syntaxes for this function (host: and domain:), but Google has only the one.

site:loc.gov
site:thomas.loc.gov
site:edu
site:nc.us

6.link:
link: returns a list of pages linking to the specified URL. Enter link:www.google.com and you'll be returned a list of pages that link to Google. Don't worry about including the http:// bit; you don't need it, and, indeed, Google appears to ignore it even if you do put it in. link: works just as well with "deep" URLs—http://www.raelity.org/apps/blosxom/ for instance—as with top-level URLs such as raelity.org.

7. cache:
cache: finds a copy of the page that Google indexed even if that page is no longer available at its original URL or has since changed its content completely. This is particularly useful for pages that change often.

If Google returns a result that appears to have little to do with your query, you're almost sure to find what you're looking for in the latest cached version of the page at Google.

cache:www.yahoo.com

8. daterange:
daterange: limits your search to a particular date or range of dates that a page was indexed. It's important to note that the search is not limited to when a page was created, but when it was indexed by Google. So a page created on February 2 and not indexed by Google until April 11 could be found with daterange: search on April 11. Remember also that Google reindexes pages. Whether the date range changes depends on whether the page content changed. For example, Google indexes a page on June 1. Google reindexes the page on August 13, but the page content hasn't changed. The date for the purpose of searching with daterange: is still June 1.

Note that daterange: works with Julian [Hack #12], not Gregorian dates (the calendar we use every day.) There are Gregorian/Julian converters online, but if you want to search Google without all that nonsense, use the FaganFinder Google interface (http://www.faganfinder.com/engines/google.shtml), offering daterange: searching via a Gregorian date pull-down menu. Some of the hacks deal with daterange: searching without headaches, so you'll see this popping up again and again in the book.

"George Bush" daterange:2452389-2452389
neurosurgery daterange:2452389-2452389

9. filetype:
filetype: searches the suffixes or filename extensions. These are usually, but not necessarily, different file types. I like to make this distinction, because searching for filetype:htm and filetype:html will give you different result counts, even though they're the same file type. You can even search for different page generators, such as ASP, PHP, CGI, and so forth—presuming the site isn't hiding them behind redirection and proxying. Google indexes several different Microsoft formats, including: PowerPoint (PPT), Excel (XLS), and Word (DOC).

homeschooling filetype:pdf
"leading economic indicators" filetype:ppt

10. related:
related:, as you might expect, finds pages that are related to the specified page. Not all pages are related to other pages. This is a good way to find categories of pages; a search for related:google.com would return a variety of search engines, including HotBot, Yahoo!, and Northern Light.

related:www.yahoo.com
related:www.cnn.com

11. info:
info: provides a page of links to more information about a specified URL. Information includes a link to the URL's cache, a list of pages that link to that URL, pages that are related to that URL, and pages that contain that URL. Note that this information is dependent on whether Google has indexed that URL or not. If Google hasn't indexed that URL, information will obviously be more limited.

info:www.oreilly.com
info:www.nytimes.com/technology

12. phonebook:
phonebook:, as you might expect, looks up phone numbers. For a deeper look, see the section

phonebook:John Doe CA

Effective Anti-Aging Skincare Treatment

A good anti-aging treatment regimen can make a huge difference in the appearance of aging facial skin.

Your appearance and your sense of well-being are linked. Every woman wants to look great and feel good about herself. This desire can be fufilled through an effective anti aging treatment regimen, one that will leave you with a clear, radiant, vibrant, and healthy skin.

In our society, skin is a component of one's self esteem, appearance, and attraction. Your skin is the most visible part, the "you" that you show to the world. Like many other parts of your body, the facial skin requires care and attention. The most important thing that you can do to keep your skin healthy, attractive and youthful is to follow an effective anti aging treatment plan.

The first signs of aging usually show up in the face. The face is often the first tell-tale sign of one's age. The skin begins to show signs of aging between 30 and 35. As a woman advances in age, a number of physical changes gradually occur that outwardly affect the appearance of the skin: dryness, buildup of dead skin cells, and hyperpigmentation.

The softness and flexibility of the skin is dependent on its moisture and oil content. As the skin ages, there is a decreased production of oil and perspiration by the sebaceous and sweat glands, respectively. Thus, the skin becomes drier.

Because dry skin is more prone to wrinkling than oily skin, aging skin requires daily moisturizing. A moisturizing cream is essential to any anti aging treatment plan. Daily moisturizing of the skin will make it softer, vibrant, and healthier.

As a woman ages, there is an overall slowdown in the skin renewal process. Aging skin loses the ability to regenerate new youthful skin cells and to shed dead ones. A build-up of dead cells on the surface of the skin can give it a dull and lifeless appearance.

The dead cells are filled with a skin protein called keratin. Excessive deposits of keratin on the skin's surface can make it rough. The skin can take on a sand paper appearance if it is neglected for a long period of time.

An exfoliating cleanser is essential to an anti aging treatment regimen. An exfoliating cleanser can effectively remove the build-up of dead cells from aging skin. After the dead cells are scrubbed from the skin's surface, immediately left under it is a revitalized, radiant, healthier, and a more youtful appearing skin.

In addition, exfoliation is good skin hygiene. An exfoliating cleanser removes impurities and dead cells from the surface of the skin. Periodic exfoliation can greatly improve the appearance of aging skin.

Increased skin pigmentation is also associated with aging. Melanocytes are specialized skin cells that produce a pigment called melanin. As the skin ages, splotching occurs. Splotching is due to an uneven deposition of pigment in the outer skin. The skin is no longer a uniform color when compared to the skin of a young healthy adult.

A skin lightener is essential to an anti aging treatment regimen. A skin lightener smooths out skin tones and splotches. They also improve the clarity and radiance of aging skin.

A skin cream containing vitamin C can effectively reduce the hyperpigmentation associated with aging skin and unify skin color. Vitamin C reduces hyperpigmentation of the skin by decreasing the production of melanin by the melanocytes.

An effective anti-aging treatment plan does not have to be elaborate, expensive or time consuming. A basic anti aging treatment regimen should include an exfoliating cleanser, a moisturizing cream containing an antioxidant vitamin, and a skin lightener.

Make Your Skin Younger

Nobody wants to look old before their time. In fact, most of us don't want to look old even when it is our time! Fortunately, there have been many advances in skin care technology, so that it's now possible to have fresh, supple, younger-looking skin no matter what your age.

Healthy Skin
It's true -- With antiaging skin care treatment, the young, beautiful, vibrant skin, which can make you look a decade younger than you actually are, is within reach. Really, no matter what your starting point, you can dramatically improve the appearance and feel of your skin.

Line Erasing
What brings on wrinkles? By the time we hit our 30s, our bodies stop producing as much of this good stuff and we even start to naturally lose our supply. External factors, such as sunlight and pollution, accelerate this breakdown. The end result: the appearance of that little line on your face.

So,we need some antiaging skin care treatments! Use a sunscreen every day, even in the winter and even when you're indoors or in the car, as the sun's rays can penetrate through glass. Boost this protective effect with a moisturizer that contains antioxidants, as they help fight off the damage brought on by the sun; some powerful ones are vitamin C, green tea, and olive leaf concentrate, among others. Next, include a retinoid, the only ingredient clinically proven to increase your skin's collagen production, into your daily regimen. You can either ask your dermatologist for a prescription-strength formula, such as Renova, or choose from the many over-the-counter products that contain retinol.

Firm and Fabulous
When describing young, beautiful, sexy skin, the word "firm" is probably high on your list of must-haves.Well-hydrated skin also appears firmer. The most potent ingredient of antiaging used today is hyaluronic acid, a sugar found in our skin that is capable of holding 1,000 times its own weight in water. Many companies have duplicated hyaluronic acid and are using it in their new antiaging skincare products to plump up sagging cheeks and to fill in fine lines. It's a very important ingredient that restores water to aged skin.

Hyaluronic acid: Found naturally in our skin and depleted over time, this ingredient actually draws moisture from the environment into the skin, resulting in a plumper-looking complexion.

Yeast extract: This ingredient is used in many "lifting" creams to temporarily smooth the skin.

How does Smoking Make Your Skin Age?

Smoking fasts your skin aging process. Why? It has been scientifically approved that smoking can accelerate the normal aging process of your skin, contributing to wrinkles. Skin ages from smoking can be visible in young adults who have a history of smoking for as few as 10 years.

The Inside Reasons:

Doctor says smoking causes narrowing of the blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin. As a result, it decreases blood flow, depleting the skin of oxygen and nutrients, such as vitamin A, which are factors that increase damage to the elastic fibers (elastin) and collagen that give your skin strength and elasticity.

The Outside Reasons:

In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking — such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke — may contribute to wrinkles. It's also possible that repeated exposure to the heat from burning cigarettes might damage your facial skin over time.

4 Steps of Basic Skin Treatment

Skin care is more than just a skill; it is an art,n which ca be learned by any of us. All you need is a professional guidance and proper understanding of the basic skin treatment steps. It is good to start from the basic.

First step is to determine your skin type.

Remember, there is no magic potions that can make your wrinkles, spots and pimples disappear overnight. But there is a way to make your skin look younger and healthier.

No matter whom you’d go for, dermatologists, cosmetologists and beauty therapists will all tell you the fact that the only way of avoiding problems and delaying the ageing process is taking care of skin regularly. The 4 basic steps are: cleanse, tone, moisturize and nourish your skin everyday. It takes only 7 days before you are amazed to see the results. The skin is tremendously recharged by the self-regeneration when properly cared for. It is never too late to start.

Cleansing

Whatever texture or type of your skin, it requires thorough cleansing twice a day. If we could have a look at unclean skin through a magnifying glass, we would realize the absolute necessity of a proper cleansing routine. Before it is cleansed, the skin surface is covered by a film of dirt, stale sweat, oil deposits, stale make-up and other pollutants. All these are potent skin irritants. They not only upset the normal balance of the skin, but also hamper its natural functions.

Choose a facial cleanser according to your skin type. Splash your face with water, and apply with a gentle facial cleanser and work it up to lather for about 30 seconds. Take the opportunity to lightly massage your skin, as this will boost the supply of blood to the surface of your skin - which means a rosier complexion. Rinse away with clear water until every soapy trace has been completely removed from your skin. Then towel off the residual water from the surface of your skin.

Toning

Toning is a must for all skin types. Toning immediately after cleansing helps to refresh the skin. Here is a tip for toning the skin, keep cotton wool pads soaking in a bowl of toner in the refrigerator, wipe after cleansing the skin, and then pad the skin briskly. It will stimulate the blood circulation to the surface. Gentle stroking movements can also be followed.

Moisturizing

Moisturizing is the most important step of the skin care routine. Smooth your skin with moisturizers, either lotions or creams. Dot a small potion onto your face, massage in with your fingertips with gentle upwards-outwards strokes. The protective film on the skin allows applying make-up easily and ensures there is balanced moisture content.

Nourishing

Nourishing can hold moisture better and performs its other functions. Creams with Vitamin A is of utmost importance to the skin helping to relieve dryness and maintain skin elasticity and creams with Vitamin E (anti-oxidant) helps in minimizing cross-linking damage.

Vitamin C and Your Skin

To be useful and effective to the body and skin care, vitamin C should be in the form of L-ascorbic acid. Studies reveal that once it is applied on the skin, It can stay in the skin for up to seventy two hours.

Vitamin C and Melanogenesis

Research show that vitamin c help decrease melanin formation. The fact that melanin is responsible for the skin’s dark pigmentation, studies clearly show that vitamin c contributes to skin lightening.

A preparation can be used to clarify and even out the skin tone as it lightens dark spots and skin blemishes.

Vitamin C and sun protection

By neutralizing free radicals, the exceedingly reactive molecules created by the sunlight, cell membranes and other components of skin tissue’s interaction. Be it clear though, that it has no capacity to absorb light, so it is not a sunscreen and should never be a substitute or a replacement to sunscreen; it is however good applying it alongside a sunscreen product.
