ABOUT TELENOR PAKISTAN
Telenor Review
Telenor can be called a little brother of Ufone (even though they are not related). Their sound clarity is really excellent. Their GPRS is a fast connecting one than Ufone as its EGPRS(Enhanced). The easy load facility is the excellent idea of re-charging account from 10 to 1000 RS with unlimited validity.
Telenor SMS works well too but a little slow but it reaches its destination, unlike Mobilink with its disappearing SMS.
International SMS does not come on Telenor and I didn’t know why, the service people said they have to register their network outside the country to solve this problem, they can do better than this as Rs.5 per international SMS is somewhat costly.
The bad points are online call center, you have to wait about 5 to 7 minutes and then they answer your call. They do that on purpose to filter out the genuine callers from the simple problem callers.
Telenor GPRS sometimes goes offline, this happens very rarely but it does happen, once its online then its very fast to browse the net.
Telenor is the king when it come to connectivity, I mean u can pick up the phone and just dial , it will connect, do that at anytime and it will connect, Ufone does that too but sometimes you have to try two times to connect but not Telenor.
My friends have told me that there is no disturbance or fluctuation when I call from Telenor and voice is crystal clear, this means their ad about crystal clear voice is true.
Telenor soon will emerge as a big cellular company in Pakistan their devotion and excellent services is giving a clear view that they are in Pakistan to do some business and will grip the large portion of subscribers.

Disabling automatic session IDs in URLs>>
This has only happened to me once but I thought I'd mention it in case someone else has the same problem. Once I had a site hosted on someone else's server (always a problem waiting to happen) who had PHP configured to automatically append the Session ID to any URLs. Eg - in php.ini, the variable session.use_trans_sid was set to 1. This means when each webpage loaded, the server scanned all hyperlinks in the HTML and automatically appended the session ID to the end of the linked to URL. Not only does put a strain on server performance, it also can render your pages unindexable by search engines. To disable it, I started my PHP pages with this code: ini_set("session.use_trans_sid", 0);

Online 'advergames' target kids
When they play Chips Ahoy Soccer Shootout and Pop-Tart Slalom, kids aren’t just having fun. They also are subjects in marketing efforts to sell food, a study finds.
The Kaiser Family Foundation’s report did not pass judgment on such online “advergames.” But at a forum Wednesday, it did lead to a confrontation on the food industry’s role in childhood obesity.
“Overwhelmingly, almost exclusively, the Web sites you are looking at are for foods that are of poor nutritional quality,” said Margo G. Wootan, director of nutrition at the Center for Science in the Public Interest, an advocacy group.
An industry executive said food companies have developed thousands of healthier products. For example, McDonald’s led the nation in apple sales last year, said Daniel Jaffe, executive vice president at the Association of National Advertisers.
“You think 50 million is a small number for apples?” he said.
Wootan said that the “tiny little examples” are “baby steps forward” in offering healthier food to kids.
'Many different factors' contribute to childhood obesity
A Kraft Foods executive said experts disagree on the impact of advertising food to kids. “There are many different factors contributing to childhood obesity and overweight,” said Nancy Daigler, a Kraft vice president.
Kraft said last year it would stop advertising unhealthy food to kids and will extend that policy to the Internet by the end of 2006, Daigler said. Kraft has reformulated many of its products, such as Alphabits cereal, to meet its guidelines for healthier foods, she said.
Food marketing to children has been getting more scrutiny as more children develop weight problems. The rate of overweight and obesity among children has climbed to 17 percent, compared with 14 percent four years ago, according to the government.
To date, research has focused mostly on TV commercials, which are far more widespread than “advergames” and other types of online marketing.
Food brand Web sites are unique in that they involve children more deeply and for longer periods of time, the study found.
Children who visit the sites have many opportunities to interact with candy bars, cereals and snack foods in a fun, branded environment, said Vicky Rideout, who oversaw the research for the private that focuses on health care issues.
Powerful marketing tool
“It’s potentially a lot more powerful as a marketing tool than TV ever dreamed of being,” Rideout said.
Researchers analyzed 77 Web sites with more than 4,000 pages, focusing on the top food brands that use television to target kids. Researchers found that 85 percent also use Web sites.
The sites were visited more than 12.2 million times during the second quarter of last year, the study said.
The study did not include other popular Web sites that promote food, such as www.neopets.com
In addition to playing games, kids can also watch special Internet-only commercials, such as “Webisodes” featuring Froot Loops’ Toucan Sam and Lucky Charms’ Lucky the Leprechaun. Kids can also e-mail friends about Web sites.
The report found that games are offered on three-quarters of the Web sites; two-thirds of those sites encourage kids to send e-mails telling their friends about a product or inviting them to visit a Web site. And more than a quarter of the Web sites let kids join so they can be told about new brands, exclusive offers and new TV commercials. Only half required a parent’s permission.
Junk food marketing to kids was the subject of a report last year by the congressionally chartered Institute of Medicine.
Panel members stopped short of blaming TV advertising for obesity in kids. But they said the evidence of a direct link was so compelling, only healthy foods should be marketed to kids.
One panelist, University of Arizona communications professor Dale Kunkel, joined in Wednesday’s discussion. Very young children are vulnerable to marketing and do not understand the inherent exaggeration and bias, Kunkel said.
“Is it fair to target children? The research says that no, it is not,” he said.

Solar-powered boat launched in London
It is slow and travels only a short distance, but builders of the Serpentine Solar Shuttle say it's the most advanced passenger ferry on British waters.
Britain's biggest solar-powered boat debuted Tuesday on a lake in London's Hyde Park, opening what its developers hope is a door to the future of solar-powered transportation.
The Serpentine Solar Shuttle — powered entirely by the sun — cruises at 5 mph and carries 42 passengers.
Beginning Saturday, operators will offer one-way tickets for the half-mile cruise at $2.75, per child and $5.50 for adults.
"This is the most technologically advanced shuttle in the world right now," said designer Christoph Behling, who also designed the world's largest solar boat in Hamburg, Germany.
"It is made of entirely stainless steel which means it never gets old. It will pave the way for future boats and trains and other means of transportation," Behling said.
The 48-foot-long shuttle has 27 solar panels on its roof, and the energy generated by the sun is enough to keep the boat running.
Its maximum journey distance is 82 miles.
Almost no pollutants are given off during the trip because the shuttle has two silent engines — meaning there are no carbon emissions and it is also charged fully by the sun.
Even on those dark, rainy days everyone associates with London, Behling said there will be enough sun to keep the ship running.
It is expected the boat will save nearly 5,000 pounds of carbon-dioxide per year, compared with a diesel boat of a similar size, according to Gavin Gomes, a spokesman for Sputnik Communications, a London-based energy company.
When the ferry is idle, surplus electricity generated by the solar panels will be fed back into the national transmission network.
The Serpentine Solar Shuttle cost $421,000 to build — 20 percent more than a diesel boat of a comparable size, Behling said.
He is now working on a 300-passenger solar-powered ferry to run on the Thames, and hopes it could be ready in 2008. A 60-passenger solar-powered train for London's Battersea Park is also in the works.

Microsoft Dials For Dollars
Microsoft is headed down a new path with a raft of software designed to unify the corporate communications experience.
In San Francisco, the company will say it can "transform business communications" by integrating the phone with Microsoft products, according to a statement from the software giant.
Such unification will be the next advance in how individuals, groups and organizations work in what Jeff Raikes, president of Microsoft's Business Division, in a statement called "today's 24x7, always-connected and increasingly mobile work environment."
As part of the launch of new products, Microsoft will unveil a 360-degree videoconference camera, as well as software for IP phones and USB headsets. HP, Motorola and Siemens have been named as partners in the new communications thrust.
"Basically, this is same old, same old, but bundled," said Joe Wilcox, analyst with JupiterResearch. Microsoft Exchange server was the software goliath's unified communications product.
Wilcox isn't sure Cisco and other VoIP players are shaking in their boots over Microsoft's entrance in the area. "This is not an area Microsoft has experience," Wilcox said.
The new services include both software and services.
Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 will enable VoIP calls, videoconferencing and IM traffic across existing applications and services.
Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 will unify e-mail, voicemail and faxing along with a speech-based attendant allowing users to access their communications from any device.
Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 client software works with Office Communications Server to provide a VoIP softphone that connects to the MSN, AOL and Yahoo IM services. Communicator will also power IP desktop phones from Polycom, LG-Nortel and Thomson Telecom.
Microsoft Office Live Meeting will include VoIP capabilities, increased video and audio features and better integration with Microsoft Office.
But the unified communications push isn't all software. Microsoft also announced its Office Communications Server will combine with a 360-degree camera for Microsoft Office Roundtable.
Described as an "immersive conferencing experience," participants in conferences gain a panoramic view of those attending the conference, along with close-up views of speakers.
Makers of peripheral devices, including USB handsets, wireless USB headsets, webcams and PC monitors from Logitech, Motorola, Plantronics, Samsung, GN Netcom and Tatung will also work with Communicator 2007 software.
HP, Motorola and Siemens were also named as partner in the new effort.
HP will provide hardware devices and systems integration. Motorola will produce mobile devices based on Office Communicator Server 2007 and Office Communicator Mobile.
Siemens will work to connect telephony, e-mail and IM into a single communications platform.
In February, Microsoft unveiled its Office Communicator Mobile voice, video and telephony software at the 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona. The software was a key part of Microsoft's unified communications vision.

IE8 'Super-Standards' Aim for Site Compatibility
IE8 'Super-Standards' Aim for Site Compatibility
Microsoft plans to issue a "release candidate" of the new standards-driven Internet Explorer 8 early in the first quarter, with final release pegged for the first half of the coming year.
The RC, as it's called, will also add a new feature aimed at making IE8 more transparently handle sites created using differing Web standards, company officials told InternetNews.com today.
When Microsoft releases the RC, the next major version of the company's browser will be all but finished. As long as no "showstopper" bugs are found at the last minute, IE8 will be released to the public.
IE8 will default to supporting the latest Internet standards as promised last winter.
However, there is a catch.
Many existing sites -– perhaps millions -- are not tuned to work with IE8's so-called "super standards" mode. Instead, they have already been tweaked to work correctly with earlier versions IE.
It's part and parcel of a sort of mad cycle around Microsoft's browser releases. As it gains popularity, site developers take advantage of its features and the standards they support. They end up customizing their sites to look best in a particular version of IE – usually the most popular one at the time.
When Microsoft comes out with a newer edition of the browser, supported standards and other technologies go in and out of style, making site developers eventually tweak their sites again or build new sites that take advantage of new features in the newer version.
For that, Microsoft has taken a lot of criticism over the years, and for ignoring Web standards that other vendors support. Now, Microsoft is moving to better support broad standards, but that's producing a problem of a different type – in its default super standards mode IE8 doesn't properly handle many older sites.
That is, increased enforcement of Web standards in super standards mode means that many pre-existing sites will not display correctly, and in some instances may not work at all.
Microsoft has been lobbying Web developers since last winter to update their existing sites to work best in super standards mode – however, with so many sites to modify, even though it's a minor change, company designers decided that another solution was needed as well.
"There are a lot of sites that [have] 'legacy behavior'," Dean Hachamovitch, IE general manager, told InternetNews.com. Although it could constitute a major hassle for users when IE8 comes out, it's the right thing to do, he said.
"It's the right thing for the next billion Web pages," Hachamovitch added.
So what about the billions of tweaked sites that already exist?
"There were high-volume sites like facebook.com, myspace.com, bbc.co.uk, and cnn.com with pages that weren̢۪t working for end-users with IE̢۪s new standards compliant default," said a posting on Microsoft's IE Blog site.
Part of the solution is to keep a publicly-accessible list online that tracks sites that need to have IE8 run in less standard, more backwards compatible modes. Where will the data come from?
"Sites are on this list based on feedback from other IE8 customers: specifically, for what high-volume sites did other users click the Compatibility View button?" the blog post continued.
When the browser visits a site, it looks up to see if it can run in super standards mode or needs a tweaked mode. That way, IE8 will be able to support both older non-conforming sites as well as new standards-conformant ones with the least inconvenience to users. At least that's the idea.
The list will also be constantly updated with those updates transmitted to IE8 in a manner similar to Automatic Updates, the blog post said.

A Year of Change Ahead for Microsoft in 2009
For Microsoft, in many respects, 2009 promises to be much like 2008. The company has all the same challenges it exited 2008 with – lingering legal issues, efforts to test and ship the latest version of Windows, and the continued development and evolution of its "cloud computing" plans. Did we mention the down economy?
'Vista Capable' or 'Vista Culpable?'
If CEO Steve Ballmer had thought the company could put the majority of its legal entanglements behind it in 2008, he was wrong.
Lawsuits and legal tussles will continue to plague Microsoft in the new year – most notably the so-called "Vista Capable" lawsuit that's currently slated to go to trial on April 13.
The case is built on the question of whether Microsoft's promotion of less powerful PCs as "capable" of running Windows Vista before Vista shipped in 2007 was actually a deceptive business practice meant to spur holiday computer sales in 2006, even though those PCs could only run the simplest edition of Vista.
Since many of those PCs could only run Vista Home Basic edition, they could not display Vista's new Aero Glass user interface. The plaintiffs insist Aero Glass is a major feature of Vista, and therefore insist that customers who bought PCs thinking they were truly "Vista capable" had been tricked because without the graphics it wasn't really Vista. Microsoft's lawyers, of course, strongly disagree.
Although discovery ended in late 2008, additional phases of the trial, such as motions, could draw it out further into 2009 or even later. Additionally, if Microsoft loses the class action suit, appeals could drag out well beyond the useful lives of those "Vista incapable" PCs.
Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?
In one respect, 2009 will be unlike any previous year for the company as it – and the rest of the technology industry – has to cope with staying on track in what is arguably the worst down economy since the Microsoft's founding 33 years ago.
One guarantee is that, while executives insist the company is still growing in revenues, in building new infrastructure, and in headcount, those plans have been growing more slowly than before the recession.
At Microsoft's annual meeting in late November, executives told shareholders that, while it will cut budgets across the board, the company will continue hiring albeit at a "much" reduced rated. The latter statement may belie an earlier rumor of a hiring freeze. Microsoft will also continue to invest in research and development, even if at a decreased rate.
Additionally, executives said they had already reduced operational expenses by $500 million.
Officials said in October, during the company's conference call with financial analysts for its first fiscal quarter of 2009, that they are slowing the growth of capital spending, particularly in the area of datacenters needed to support Microsoft's future cloud computing plans.
In addition, the company tried to scale back shareholders' expectations when it reported its fiscal first quarter 2009 earnings in late October. At that point, officials downsized fiscal 2009 revenue guidance from between $67.3 and $68.1 billion – its guidance in late July -- to between $64.9 and $66.4 billion. That's a decrease in anticipated revenues during fiscal 2009 of $1.7 to $2.4 billion.
While the company lowered its growth predictions for the current year, however, it continued – at least as late as the annual meeting in November – to predict year over year growth. In fiscal 2008, it grossed $60.4 billion. That's a slowdown from the 18 percent year over year growth it reported for fiscal 2007, but in these tough times, the 7 percent growth that the company's financial planners predicted in October still seems bullish.
One positive for Microsoft – the company still has $25 billion in the bank – enough to bail out the Big Three automakers on its own in the unlikely event it wanted to.
Microsoft is likely to pull in its bullish horns as the new year progresses, however, as more IT shops fall under the budget axe. Indeed, a recent independently-funded survey found that 46 percent of IT shops are planning on sticking with Windows XP for now and then migrating directly to Windows 7.
Given that Windows 7 will not be for sale until at the very least the second half of calendar 2009 – which coincides with the first half of Microsoft's 2010 fiscal year – it is likely that the company won't see major revenue from Vista's replacement until at least the holiday sales period.
Worst case, shipment of Windows 7 could slip to the first calendar quarter of 2010, which Microsoft has said might happen. Although that is not expected to happen again – as it did with Vista – it's still in the realm of possibility.
If that occurred, it could leave many IT shops in a bad spot without a 'plan B,' particularly shops that are skipping Vista to go straight from XP to Windows 7. Part of their motivation is the age-old need to stretch budget dollars but this time in an abysmal economy.
"Without a specific or compelling business reason to migrate in this bearish economy the majority of corporations will opt to conserve their already constrained IT capital expenditure monies," Laura DiDio, principal analyst at Information Technology Intelligence Corp. (ITIC) and author of the survey report, told InternetNews.com in an e-mail.
In fact, she said, only 16 percent of IT shops will get a budget increase, and many of those will be what she categorized as "modest" increases. Meantime, 27 percent of firms said their budgets would shrink.
Microsoft at Your Service
At the same time, Microsoft also has to somehow maintain the relevance of full-function PCs and laptops, and to continue working to transition much, if not most, of its market to services that run on PCs, mobile devices, and the Web. Those are what executives call the three legs of Microsoft's services stool.
For the past three years, Microsoft has been banging the drum for its version of "software-as-a-service" – which it refers to instead as "software-plus-services." That subtle difference aims to help the software titan maintain its traditional revenue streams from sales of software, while moving towards a services-based revenue model.
The idea is to make a serious move into online applications and services that compliment each other as well as tie in with the company's evolving PC-based software.
Often referred to as Microsoft's cloud computing initiative, it is a grand strategy to offer a wide range of services, ranging from IT products like hosted versions of Exchange, SharePoint Services, and SQL Server Data Services to consumer services like ad supported free e-mail and other services such as free online storage, online photo management and calendaring. That includes Windows Live Search as well.
It also includes scaled down, Web-based versions of its Office applications suite that can be run online via Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari browsers. Dubbed Office Web, those applications do not have a delivery date yet.
Another key component of Microsoft's cloud computing play is the Windows Azure cloud services development platform, announced at the company's Professional Developers Conference in October. That is meant to provide a common underpinning for much of the cloud computing services.
Finally, Microsoft also debuted its Live Mesh services in 2008. Live Mesh is a cloud service that aims to link together all of a user's devices, contacts, and content in "the cloud" so that the user's information – whether files or music – is available wherever the user is, on whatever device the user has available at the time. It went into public beta this fall and is expected to ship sometime in 2009.

6 ways to add interactivity to your website>>
Interactivity is what makes the web such a powerful medium and can be one of the most effective ways of engaging your visitors. Call it a form of online ‘bonding’. Just as importantly, having your visitors contribute is an ideal way to produce new content on a regular basis. Here are some ideas on how to make your website more interactive. I illustrate some of the ideas with real life examples I've used in my cartoon website, Sev Wide Web.
Subscription
People like to belong. You can offer this kind of experience by having them join a ‘club’ of some sort, along with certain privileges that come with membership. This may take the form of an email newsletter, entrance to an exclusive part of your site or just to be part of your online community.
Contests
An entertaining way to involve users is to offer puzzles, quizzes, contests or trivia games. Having them tie in to your website's topic of interest is recommended. APPLICATION
Cartoon caption contests are the backbone of my cartoon website Sev Wide Web, running 3 weekly contests at contests.sev.com.au. Receiving hundreds (or sometimes thousands when I draw Lord of the Rings parodies) of submissions each week is a great source of content but reading all the entries proved an arduous chore. I was saved from early insanity when I created Ratsy, a punchline RATing SYstem that allowed readers to rate all the submitted punchlines. This added another level of interactivy, a new level of regularly updated content as readers tuned in to see how the punchlines were scoring and saved me over an hour of punchline reading each day.
Feedback
Offer surveys, feedback forms, questionaires and always a link to a 'contact us' page. User feedback is very important to maintaining and improving your site. I recommend you don't actually display your email address anywhere as it will inevitably be spidered by spam companies.
Discussion Forums
If you can build a community around your website, half your battle is won. This is achieved with online forums. Online communities are self-maintaining organisms - they visit your website regularly, they produce their own content, friendships are formed all within the context of your website. In this situations, it's a case of "come for the content, stay for the community". APPLICATION
The Sev Forums have been a revelation for me. Starting out as the Discussion Board, it quickly grew in popularity to the point where we had to split it into two forums, adding a new Ideas Board where sci-fi fans could suggest what shows and movies they'd like to see parodied next (another wonderful source of new content). The Discussion Board continue to grow out of control until it was split again, adding a new Sevilian Board. Most importantly, a strong-knit community (called 'Sevilians') spanning the globe has developed with the forums as the foundation.
Help
Give the visitors an opportunity to ask questions. This can be handled in feedback forms (or even better, in your discussion forum), but a help desk designed specifically for that purpose encourages more interaction. A help desk is a good place to post your FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions).
Search Engine
You want to make navigation as easy and intuitive as possible - a search form on each of your pages gives the user a one click option to any part of your site they're looking for (in theory). It also encourages the visitor to actively interact with your site rather than more passive hyperlinking.

How to find a Good Web Host>>
There are a few things to watch out for when looking for a web host. Follow these simple guide lines, and things should be fine.
1. Know the lingo.
When you first venture into the murky water that is web hosting, you will be immediately be inundated with terms such as web space, transfer, CGI-BIN, Unix/Windows, Apache, IIS, PHP, MySQL, etc. KNOW what they mean so that you don't fall prey to offerings which really don't exist. Do your research here!
2. Avoid unlimited/unmetered web space/bandwidth/transfer like the PLAGUE
As the old adage goes ... if it seems too god to be true, it often is. Lets look at it logically. Unlimited hosts basically offer all you can eat. Take as much as you want - you only have to pay a set price.
Seems perfect? Hardly. Such hosts count on you using little bandwidth and space - start using too much, and they will cancel your account.
And how do they do this? In their killer terms of service.
Usually hidden and mostly not paid attention to, the terms of service outlines what you can do or not do n their server. In order to keep their very false promises, such unscrupulous hosts usually do not allow any downloads, and CGI programs, allow 'unlimited' only to a certain value (which of course goes against the entire principal), and suspend your account for excessive use (in which they hold the right to claim what is excessive and what is not).
3. Your own Gut
Checking out the website is very important. If you have troubles navigating the website, if it is very slow, if you just don't have a good feeling -- what makes you think you will be happy with their service if you do sing up? Web hosting is a satisfaction thing.
4. DO THE RESEARCH
The internet is a hug repository of information. If a host is bad, it likely has angry customers that want their voice heard!
There are lot of places to check. First of, check web hosting directories . Do a search on the specific host. If the host isn't listed, it isn't all bad - they could be just new and not built a reputation. Alternatively, if they are listed don't have any reviews, that could not be bad either - the reputation factor comes in. Do understand that angry people are morel likely to voice their displeasure than content ones will voice their pleasure.
Next, check out webhostingtalk.com Do a search on your host, and post asking for opinions. Many small and mid-sized hosting companies frequent that place, and maybe even the owner of the host you are inquiring about can be found there! Be careful though. ... it can become a jungle and solicitations might come flying. The forum and its search function is one if THE richest resource on web hosting.
Lastly, hit ht newsgroups. Using groups.google.com, do a search on the host you are looking for.
Remember one thing ... due to the intense competition, some hosts do post negative things about other hosts. Remember to carefully read what is written.
5. Contact them!
The final test - there is no better text in service than by actually contacting them. Find their contact info, and shoot them an email with some questions. If you cant find their contact information easily, run FAR AWAY from them. Such hosts can be trouble if you need urgent assistance and you can't even get a hold of them
Judge the host by the timeliness and manner in which they reply. If they are rude to you now, or don't know what they are talking about, what makes you think they will be kind to you if you sing up? Also, taking more than 24 hours to purely can be a bad sign, and more than 48 hours is UNACCEPTABLE.
There you have it. The lowdown on the business. Follow these steps, and you should have no problem finding a good host.

Wireless / Computer Networking
What is Networking?
In the world of computers, networking is the practice of linking two or more computing devices together for the purpose of sharing data. Networks are built with a mix of computer hardware and computer software.
Area Networks
Networks can be categorized in several different ways. One approach defines the type of network according to the geographic area it spans. Local area networks (LANs), for example, typically reach across a single home, whereas wide area networks (WANs), reach across cities, states, or even across the world. The Internet is the world's largest public WAN.
Network Design
Computer networks also differ in their design. The two types of high-level network design are called client-server and peer-to-peer. Client-server networks feature centralized server computers that store email, Web pages, files and or applications. On a peer-to-peer network, conversely, all computers tend to support the same functions. Client-server networks are much more common in business and peer-to-peer networks much more common in homes.
A network topology represents its layout or structure from the point of view of data flow. In so-called "bus" networks, for example, all of the computers share and communicate across one common conduit, whereas in a "star" network, all data flows through one centralized device. Common types of network topologies include bus, ring and mesh.
Network Protocols
In networking, the communication language used by computer devices is called the protocol. Yet another way to classify computer networks is by the set of protocols they support. Networks often multiple protocols to support specific applications. Popular protocols include TCP/IP, the most common protocol found on the Internet and in home networks.
Wired vs Wireless Networking
Many of the same network protocols, like TCP/IP, work in both wired and wireless networks. Networks with Ethernet cables has predominated in businesses, schools, and homes for several decades. Recently, however, wireless networking alternatives have emerged as the premier technology for building new computer networks.
The most common wireless networking technology, 802.11b, offers transfer speeds up up to 11 Mbps. The newest 802.11g wireless technology reaches speeds of up to 54 Mbps. Wireless home networks are currently a hot market, with overall sales of wireless network products increasing 16% in 2003.

Google Represses AdSense Partners in Search of Fraudulent Clicks
In an struggle to root out fraudulent AdSense partners, Google has embarked on more than likely fraudulent initiatives of its own, potentially bilking hundreds of dollars and continuing to thousands of legitimate website publishers out of revenues received over legal clicks on Google searches.
With no organized controls to assure the the cash withheld of publishers are making reimbursed to advertisers, the impending for Google to illegally retain revenues is significant.
According to reliable sources, Google has notified hundreds of dollars and more than likely thousands of AdSense partner ones too fraudulent activity was called on ones in connection through Google searches, supposedly accruing inappropriately generated revenues for the sites. Although a substantial share of these types of ones may, in fact, not hold involved in any kind of fraudulent activity on such a own and no evidence remains of any inappropriate behavior in connection to such sites, Google's algorithms detected how the organization refers to as "invalid" clicks. Without realize or explanation, Google merely has disabled the AdSense consideration of these types of sites, quitting vacant "holes" at which the AdSense put up ads after appeared.
Worse, Google refuses to forward any more guidelines to publishers whose accounts undergo kept on disabled; publishers own no recourse to request for reinstatement in the Google AdSense program; and publishers accused of fraud, rightly or wrongly, are refused payment for any activity generated at such a sites, that much for activity generated before the purported click fraud was referred to as by Google.
In a potentially fraudulent act of its own, Google suggests too earnings generated by the accused publishers' ones are "being correctly paid off to the affected advertisers." However, no accounting is given that to the ones and Google refuses to substantiate to publishers which money are, in fact, making repaid to advertisers. The action by Google might impact millions - a good deal hundreds of dollars of millions - of money in incremental revenues overly Google is popping in its earnings statements the current do not, in fact, belong to the company. With no organized controls to assure so the money withheld out of publishers are making paid off to advertisers, the impending for Google to illegally retain revenues is significant, opening the association to comprehensive legal battles and Sarbanes Oxley linked questioning up its accounting procedures.
Because the ones affected are traditionally small, Google apparently believes its accusations and actions cause no substantiation, no validation, no confirmation, and no audit. E-mails sent to the affected publishers are signed by an unidentified Google AdSense Team" and properties send back no option for publishers to determine the nature of the fraud detected or the lonely time of finances affected. The Google notice, attained by Jack Myers Media Business Report states:
"A publisher's site may not suffer invalid clicks on any ad(s), along with but not limited to clicks generated by: a publisher on his own web pages, a publisher encouraging others to click on his ads, automated clicking programs or any a greater amount of deceptive software, a publisher differing any percentage of the ad code or influencing the layout, behavior, targeting or delivery of ads for any reason.
While such procedures appear appropriate, Google's actions often punish publishers for clear algorithmic inconsistencies. If, for example, a site providing low income generates a perfect total amount of AdSense clicks as opposed to Google's computers agree it should, Google hello assumes fraud and merely disables the account. Google accuses publishers of perpetrating or permitting fraudulent click activity, continuing to while different ones affected by Google's actions can, themselves, identify no source or evidence of this kind of illegal activity.
Because Google gives no signal of click fraud, allows no due method for ones impacted and removed on the AdSense program, and gives no evidence which finances improperly withheld based on publishers are, in fact, making reimbursed to advertisers, publishers and attorneys are research quality action lawsuits. Google just recently settled a school action suit pressed by webmasters who argue properties inappropriately hired Google for fraudulent clicks and a larger number of superiority action suits undergo been heard targeted against the company. (See Jack Myers Media Business Report 3/13/06) The company's aggressive search engine for fraudulent clicks, and the computerized over-reaction and inappropriate disabling of lawfully talking ones reflects the problem Google faces as it seeks to automate and depersonalize the advertising world.
While warnings up the scope of fraudulent clicks may justify Google's actions (The Wall Street Journal cites states so additionally as opposed to 20 per cent of all clicks are fraudulent), efforts to reach the organization for motive of its actions balance provided a stonewall of computerized e-mail responses. Google representatives say properties are not able to either explain or substantiate the particular nature of fraud properties accuse ones of committing. They refuse to send back an accounting of finances generated by affected sites, validate overly undistributed commissions are making reimbursed to advertisers, or survey how a great deal funds has continued repaid or due to be returned. Google apparently believes it can try above the procedures of fair trade and this its size provides it to leg work outside the norms of traditional advertising economical behavior.

Tips for interpreting a man's talk
Translating your guy's talk
Men often communicate with women in mysterious ways — or with no words at all. » A primer on 'man talk'When you first look at a man and a woman, you are able to notice the subtle differences between the sexes. It is when the two sexes communicate with each other, however, that the differences become truly glaring. This is because one is speaking "he talk" while the other is speaking "she talk."
When you first look at a man and a woman, you are able to notice the subtle differences between the sexes. It is when the two sexes communicate with each other, however, that the differences become truly glaring. This is because one is speaking "he talk" while the other is speaking "she talk."
Where this difference really becomes a problem is when you are in a relationship, and you need to know how to combine "he talk" and "she talk" into "we talk." So I feel like it's my job as a man and as a dating coach to help women learn how to understand "he talk" (or "man talk" as I like to call it), so that they won't need to hire a translator to understand what men are saying.
Women want men to express their feelings. They complain, "Why can't he just say he loves me?" or, "I wish he would just compliment me more."
What you need to pay attention to and realize, though, is that men do tell you they love you and compliment you... they just do it using their own language. Men, in fact, sometimes don't use words at all when they are communicating with you.
This will help you understand men's verbal and non-verbal language.
“Sometimes it's not what men say, but it's their actions that are significant.”
Sometimes it's not what men say, but it's their actions that are significant. It is necessary for women to learn to interpret men's roundabout way of communicating with them.
Here are 10 things that men say and do, and what they really mean:
1. He starts talking about how crazy all his single friends lives are, and then he tells you that he doesn't miss it at all. What most women will think if they hear this, is that he misses those days. This is not true. He says this because he is looking for confirmation that you feel exactly the same way. He also wants to communicate that he's ready to take the relationship to the next level.
2. Since you recently took him to your family's house for dinner, he can't stop talking about how much fun he had with your brother. What he means here is that he really likes your family, and wouldn't mind being a part of your family.
3. He teases you about things like how clumsy you are or about how you put smiley faces in every one of your emails. What he's really telling you when he does this is that he really likes you a lot. Remember that men are just giant boys... we tease the ones we love and ignore the ones we don't.
4. A man tells you he needs his space. So what does this mean to you? It means that you need to ignore him and not call him. Men love the chase. By not calling him, he'll start calling you and wondering what happened.
5. A man says that he really wants you to meet his parents. What does this mean in man talk? He's telling you that you are his girlfriend, and that he is ready to take it to the next level by getting you involved with his family. This brings us right to the next bit of man talk.
6. When a man calls you and says, "I want you to meet my friends on Friday night," this is as big as meeting his parents. He's introducing you to his pack. It means that he thinks you are attractive and sexy, and he wants to show you off to his friends.
7. After sleeping over at his house several times, he tells you that the next time you sleep over you should bring some things to make you feel more comfortable and a change of clothing. In man talk, that is basically telling you that he's wondering what it would be like to live with you. He also wants your things around.
8. You have plans with him on a Sunday, and you find out that he passed up floor seats to his favorite basketball team to keep those plans with you. What does that tell you in man talk? It tells you that he's hooked... and that you are his girlfriend.
9. He is watching one of your favorite shows on a night you're not together, and he calls you afterwards to talk about it. In man talk, what does this mean? By doing this, he's telling you that he pays attention to you, and he's interested in learning more about you and sharing more things with you. Men generally do not choose to watch "Project Runway" on their own. If we're watching your TV shows, we really like you.
10. He tells you, "I've cleaned today." What this means in man talk is, "I spent the day doing something I dislike more than anything." You need to realize that when a man says this to you, he really likes you. To most men, cleaning the house is just about the worst way he can spend a day.
“Once you understand the hidden language and actions of man talk, you'll become far more secure in your dating and relationships.”
Once you understand the hidden language and actions of man talk, you'll become far more secure in your dating and relationships. So the next time you go over to your man's house and he looks at you and says, "I cleaned today," you'll know that he really meant to say, "I must really like you, because I can ignore my mess most of the time."

Multiple Streams of Income
Everybody would love to make lots of money quickly, working from home, and only doing a few hours of work per week. I've spent the past two years trying to find a great way of doing this. Only over the course of the past few months have I found any "get rich quick" programs worth buying. I've been trying to make money online for a long time. I had a few small websites, but they never made much more than a few hundred per month. It was easy money and didn't require much work on my part, but I knew there were people out there doing better than I was and I knew I could do as well as them.
Now, I've seen a lot of "get rich quick" programs. Most of these people make claims about earning $2000/day with Google or something similarly insane. Almost all of these people are complete liars. Even if they were making $2000/day with Google AdSense, it'd be because they had high- traffic websites with a lot of quality content. I'd know, because in one whole month, I never even made half of what they promised I'd make daily with their programs. Maybe you've already been scammed by one of these fraudsters. Anyway, I finally got sick of what was being offered.
I decided I'd look through the all of the "get rich quick" programs I could find and see if there were any that were actually legitimate. I found that there were owners selling their programs for well over $100, but the information in them could be found almost anywhere online for free. Additionally, they all contained out-of-date information, had no e-mail support, no money back guarantees, and broken links in the downloads section.
In conclusion, almost all of the programs I found were completely useless. The owners knew it, but they couldn't care less about their customers since they didn't offer refund policies! Amazingly, while looking through all of the programs, I actually did find a few legitimate programs. They were run by ordinary people like you and me, and they had found some great methods of making money from their home by doing very little work.
I spent some time working with those programs, and my income is now ten times what it used to be. These programs provided a large amount of great information on how to make extra money on your computer doing very little work. Numerous customers had provided great feedback and reviews for their products. Many of them have started to make money just days after buying!
Their programs have excellent prices, and the authors have a group of paid staff who are dedicating to helping you or providing assistance if you need any. I must say I was amazed! If you do decide to purchase any of the programs listed below, I recommend you join quickly. Most of the owners tell me they are getting an overwhelming number of sales and plan on raising prices in the near future, so order while prices are still low!

What is 3G?
3G is watching clips from your favorite soap on the train.
3G is sending images straight from the field to headquarters for analysis.
3G is sharing your Moroccan vacation with your friends--from Morocco.
3G is videoconferencing in a taxi.
3G is the Future of Everyday Communications.
3G is a global development of communication standards and technologies. This development will lead to your being able to access multimedia services with your mobile phone.
You may have seen terms in the news like GPRS, EDGE, WCDMA, and UMTS. All of these are concepts related to development of mobile communication networks to 3G.
Although the technology behind 3G may seem complicated, the ways in which 3G will affect all of our lives are easy to imagine. Just imagine having a combined camera, videocamera, computer, stereo, and radio included in your mobile phone. Rich-media information and entertainment will be at your fingertips whenever you want anywhere there is a wireless network.
Mobile communication is moving from simple voice to rich media, where we use more of our senses to intensify our experiences.
But not all of this will happen at once. 3G is an evolution to a communications ideal that we cannot see the end of yet. We do know that mobile multimedia will hit the Japanese markets in 2001, and Europe and North America will follow soon after.
We also know that, regardless of whether you find new technologies intimidating or fascinating, 3G will bring a host of mobile services that will bring more information, more efficiency, and more joy to your life

What is Blue Tooth?
Bluetooth is a global de facto standard for wireless connectivity. Based on a low-cost, short-range radio link, Bluetooth cuts the cords that used to tie up digital devices.
When two Bluetooth equipped devices come within 10 meters range of each other, they can establish a connection together. And because Bluetooth utilizes a radio-based link, it doesn't require a line-of-sight connection in order to communicate. Your laptop could send information to a printer in the next room, or your microwave could send a message to your mobile phone telling you that your meal is ready.
In the future, Bluetooth is likely to be standard in tens of millions of mobile phones, PCs, laptops and a whole range of other electronic devices. As a result, the market is going to demand new innovative applications, value-added services, end-to-end solutions and much more. The possibilities opened up really are limitless, and because the radio frequency used is globally available, Bluetooth can offer fast and secure access to wireless connectivity all over the world. With potential like that, it's no wonder that Bluetooth is set to become the fastest adopted technology in history
Blue Tooth in action
Bluetooth can give you a new kind of freedom. You might share information, synchronize data, access the Internet, integrate with LANs or even unlock your car - all by simply using your Bluetooth equipped mobile phone.
At first, Bluetooth will begin to replace the cables that connect various digital devices. Imagine a headset for your mobile phone that does not need a cable - calls are transmitted wirelessly to your earpiece. Bluetooth will also allow you to surf the Web with your laptop while your phone is in your bag, or effortlessly exchange information such as calendar appointments or contacts data with your colleagues.
Bluetooth might also be used in Mobile Imaging. Nokia and Fujifilm have been developing a prototype Mobile Imaging technology, allowing a modified Nokia 9110 Communicator containing a Bluetooth chip to receive images taken on a Bluetooth equipped Fujifilm digital camera. After adding a few lines of text, the user can send the received photograph to another Nokia Communicator, or to the Fujifilm Web service, where it could be viewed, printed or saved on a CD-R. By combining the ease of SMS messaging with digital photography, Mobile Imaging is a clear indication of the potential of Bluetooth.
The wireless future
As more and more manufactures adopt Bluetooth and create devices that support it, developers will find new, previously unimagined ways of applying its power.
Imagine some of these everyday examples: you enter a bus and your bus fare is automatically paid by your mobile phone. Or you get an automatic text message notifying that your kids are safely back from school. Or while waiting at the airport lounge, you get some interesting duty-free offers directly to your mobile phone. You could play multiplayer games with your friends, or write e-mails on your laptop on the 'plane, then when you land and switch on your handset, the messages can be automatically sent by your phone. You could even use your mobile phone to control the locking and alarm on your car, as well as integrate it with the car's stereo so you can talk hands free while you are on the go.
Together with other industry initiatives, such as WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) and Symbian, Bluetooth will have tremendous effects on everyday life. Bluetooth is one of the key technologies that can make the mobile information society possible, blurring the boundaries between home, the office, and the outside world. At Nokia, we want to make life simpler, more efficient and more fun. We want to offer increased freedom to our customers, and we believe that mobile phones and other similar devices are the keys that will open doors to exciting and liberating futures.

What to do if your cell phone is stolen
We all know that unfortunate things always happen with people. Friends were not careful and the keys from their apartment were stolen; a neighbor lost his wallet at the party and so on. There are hundreds of stories like these. In all these stories shocking things happen because of the existence of criminals minds around us. Cell phones attracted attention of criminals since they became popular. There are a few reasons for this cause. A cell phone does not weigh much and it is very easy to sell, even if you don't have a charger or manual and other related equipment. That’s why sometimes it is even more profitable to steal a cell phone than a wallet. The average profit of a cell phone theft is an average of 3000-6000 and the risk to get trapped is very little.
There are a few ways to steal a cell phone. The classical scheme is very simple; stealing a cell phone from the pocket or purse. It is easy to steal a cell phone if there are a lot of people around, like in a movie theater or in public transport. To steal a cell phone from the belt is easier in crowds, for example during festivals or in public transport during rush-hours. When you get pushed from every direction, you won't notice one extra push. For an experienced thief, it's not an obstacle even if your cell phone is hidden under your jacket, sweater or coat.
The recommendation for this kin d of cause is simple: don't put the cell phone in the external pockets of your bag or purse; keep it inside. Of course, it may take you some extra time to get your cell phone, but it will be safer there. If you keep the cell phone on the belt, it is recommended to use a cell phone case. It is more difficult to remove this case from your belt unnoticeably.
But these are very rare cases now a days. The more common ways are snatching and robbery at gun point. These kinds of cases are very frequent in big cities like Karachi, Lahore, Shekhupura and Faisalabad. Now it is also increasing in other cities like Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Hyderabad, Multan. A city like Islamabad is yet secure due to its tight security reasons but still there are some cases of theft, so we can say no city is fully secure from this menace.
We would like to tell you what to do if your cell phone has been stolen or lost. The very first thing you are supposed to do is, you have to call your cellular service to block your phone number. In that case they will block your SIM card and the thief will not be able to use your balance. But the other way is, let the thief use your mobile and track him by checking call details using your SIM card number but this only happens if the thief is not professional one. Above all this make a call at 021-5682222, 6583334 to CPLC (Citizen Police Liaison Committee) or to 15, you can also call directly to PTA at the following number 0800-25625 to block your mobile set. They will get some basic info and the IMEI number of your lost mobile set. They will register IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) of your cell phone and will request all the mobile operators to block this IMEI on their networks. You can also fax your complaint to CPLC at 021-5683336 or can send an email to PTA at imei@pta.gov.pk
IMEI is a number unique to every GSM mobile phone. It is usually found printed on or underneath the phone's battery and warranty card. IMEI of any set can also be found by dialing the sequence *#06# into the phone. The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used to stop a stolen phone from accessing the network. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "ban" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless, regardless of whether the phone's SIM is changed.
Now a days there are many stories that IMEI number of any SIM can be changed but this is not the fact the IMEI number is embedded in the chip of the SIM that is unchangeable by anyway.
Don't rely on security codes that you setup in your phone. Entering PIN code is necessary only while switching on the phone. Criminals know that and won't switch off the phone. A password which you should enter to unlock a keypad is more efficient, but can be overwritten too. These codes can protect your phone from your friends, colleagues or your child but not from a thief. That means that all the phone numbers from your phonebook could be viewed. Some thieves find a fun dialing the numbers from your phonebook, talking with your friends. Someone may call you and offer returning your cell phone for a reward. It's a rare case when the phone is really returned, because the thieves are afraid to get caught.
The cell phone theft is a big problem of many developed countries. Some of them pass laws against it. The cell phone theft in UK was increasing greatly in the past few years. According to John Denham (British Minister of the Internal Affairs), half of the all thefts in London are cell phone thefts (totally about 700 000 of cell phones per year get stolen in UK). Now, changing of IMEI code, distribution of the information how to change it, possession and distribution of the equipment that can be used for making this change in UK will be considered as a criminal offence.
In the conclusion I'd like to say that nobody is protected against cell phone theft. Don't yell at your relatives if their cell phone was stolen. It will be a lesson for them. The most important is to prevent it from happening again.

Communication Skills - Start Here!
Why you need to get your message across
Effective communication is all about conveying your messages to other people clearly and unambiguously. It's also about receiving information that others are sending to you, with as little distortion as possible.
Doing this involves effort from both the sender of the message and the receiver. And it's a process that can be fraught with error, with messages muddled by the sender, or misinterpreted by the recipient. When this isn't detected, it can cause tremendous confusion, wasted effort and missed opportunity.
In fact, communication is only successful when both the sender and the receiver understand the same information as a result of the communication.
By successfully getting your message across, you convey your thoughts and ideas effectively. When not successful, the thoughts and ideas that you actually send do not necessarily reflect what you think, causing a communications breakdown and creating roadblocks that stand in the way of your goals – both personally and professionally.
In a recent survey of recruiters from companies with more than 50,000 employees, communication skills were cited as the single more important decisive factor in choosing managers. The survey, conducted by the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Business School, points out that communication skills, including written and oral presentations, as well as an ability to work with others, are the main factor contributing to job success.
In spite of the increasing importance placed on communication skills, many individuals continue to struggle, unable to communicate their thoughts and ideas effectively – whether in verbal or written format. This inability makes it nearly impossible for them to compete effectively in the workplace, and stands in the way of career progression.
Being able to communicate effectively is therefore essential if you want to build a successful career. To do this, you must understand what your message is, what audience you are sending it to, and how it will be perceived. You must also weigh-in the circumstances surrounding your communications, such as situational and cultural context.
Communications Skills – The Importance of Removing Barriers
Problems with communication can pop-up at every stage of the communication process (which consists of the sender, encoding, the channel, decoding, the receiver, feedback and the context – see the diagram below). At each stage, there is the potential for misunderstanding and confusion.
To be an effective communicator and to get your point across without misunderstanding and confusion, your goal should be to lessen the frequency of problems at each stage of this process, with clear, concise, accurate, well-planned communications. We follow the process through below:
Source...
As the source of the message, you need to be clear about why you're communicating, and what you want to communicate. You also need to be confident that the information you're communicating is useful and accurate.
Message...
The message is the information that you want to communicate.
Encoding...
This is the process of transferring the information you want to communicate into a form that can be sent and correctly decoded at the other end. Your success in encoding depends partly on your ability to convey information clearly and simply, but also on your ability to anticipate and eliminate sources of confusion (for example, cultural issues, mistaken assumptions, and missing information.)
A key part of this is knowing your audience: Failure to understand who you are communicating with will result in delivering messages that are misunderstood.
Channel...
Messages are conveyed through channels, with verbal channels including face-to-face meetings, telephone and videoconferencing; and written channels including letters, emails, memos and reports.
Different channels have different strengths and weaknesses. For example, it's not particularly effective to give a long list of directions verbally, while you'll quickly cause problems if you give someone negative feedback using email.
Decoding...
Just as successful encoding is a skill, so is successful decoding (involving, for example, taking the time to read a message carefully, or listen actively to it.) Just as confusion can arise from errors in encoding, it can also arise from decoding errors. This is particularly the case if the decoder doesn't have enough knowledge to understand the message.
Receiver...
Your message is delivered to individual members of your audience. No doubt, you have in mind the actions or reactions you hope your message will get from this audience. Keep in mind, though, that each of these individuals enters into the communication process with ideas and feelings that will undoubtedly influence their understanding of your message, and their response. To be a successful communicator, you should consider these before delivering your message, and act appropriately.
Feedback...
Your audience will provide you with feedback, as verbal and nonverbal reactions to your communicated message. Pay close attention to this feedback, as it is the only thing that can give you confidence that your audience has understood your message. If you find that there has been a misunderstanding, at least you have the opportunity to send the message a second time.
Context...
The situation in which your message is delivered is the context. This may include the surrounding environment or broader culture (corporate culture, international cultures, and so on).
Removing Barriers at All These Stages
To deliver your messages effectively, you must commit to breaking down the barriers that exist within each of these stages of the communication process.
Let’s begin with the message itself. If your message is too lengthy, disorganized, or contains errors, you can expect the message to be misunderstood and misinterpreted. Use of poor verbal and body language can also confuse the message.
Barriers in context tend to stem from senders offering too much information too fast. When in doubt here, less is oftentimes more. It is best to be mindful of the demands on other people’s time, especially in today’s ultra-busy society.
Once you understand this, you need to work to understand your audience’s culture, making sure you can converse and deliver your message to people of different backgrounds and cultures within your own organization, in your country and even abroad.

10 Simple Design Tips
Organize your site from the beginning. If you organize the folders, for your site, before you begin creating your pages, then you will always be able to find your pages when you need them.
Create folders for different types of files. If you are adding pictures to your site, you should have a folder named something like "graphics" or "pictures. This is where you will always place your pictures. If you have some pages about you and others about your kids, create different folders to keep each in.
Name your pages and graphics in a way in which it will be easy to find them later. When you have groups of pages or graphics that are similar, give them similar names. For instance, if you have a group of pages with stories about your son, start the name of each file with "son". The file names could be: sonpark, sonschool.

Keep your graphics sizes small. When the pixel size of your graphics are too big, it takes too long for your page to load. Your readers may not stick around long enough to see you graphics if they are made to wait.
Put large graphics on a separate page. Create a page especially for your large graphic. Link to it from your page and label the link with something telling your readers that it will take a long time to download. They will wait to see it if they are warned ahead of time.
Use of a thumbnail is an option in place of a text link to your graphic page. A thumbnail is a smaller version of your graphic. You can create one with most graphic programs by just making the graphic smaller or using the "thumbnail" option, if the program has one.
Update your site regularly. When people come to your site, they are looking for information about you, or whatever your site is about. If they like your site, they will come back again. When they come back, they will be looking for more information. If you don't have something new for them to look at, they may not come back again. Give them what they want and add more information regularly.
Keep text narrow. It is easier to read text that is kept in narrow columns. Did you ever wonder why newspapers keep their columns so narrow? It's to make it easier to read. It's even more important on the Internet because your readers are reading on their computer screen. If they can't read everything, without scrolling sideways, then they probably won't read it at all.
Test your page with different browsers and browser settings. Your pages may look different to different computers depending on the browser they are using and the settings they have set. Finding out how your pages look to others will help you create better pages.
Change the font size in your browser. Not everyone uses the default settings in their browser. Go into your browser's settings and change the font size to see how other's may view your pages.
Check other browsers. There are online tools to help you view your site with other browsers without having to download the actual browser. Sometimes your site will look great to you, but to someone with another browser, your site looks awful. Test your site and make some changes, if necessary.

If using a non-default font, also use alternatives. If you are using a font, for your Web page, that is not a common font, you should specify a common font for your readers who don't have that font on their computer. You can do this by using this font code:
** Replace font1, font2 and font3 with the names of the fonts you want to use.
Make your description descriptive. Search engines key on these words so they should have words that are in your page. If your site is about sewing your title could be something like, "Sewing With Thread To Make Blankets Shirts Clothes Dolls". Don't use punctuation except a dash, if necessary.
Close all tags. When using HTML you must close all tags that you open. Your pages may not look right in some browsers if you don't.
