Wrinkle Skin Care

Dermatologists have several options available for wrinkle removal.

Fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and mouth are a normal part of the aging process. Wrinkles occur naturally as subcutaneous fat and skin elasticity is lost. The face having a much shallower layer of subcutaneous tissue is one of the first places that wrinkles will appear. Add in the damage that frequent sun exposure does to the skin and it is now wonder that many women have skin that makes them look older than they really are.

Luckily women (and men) now have several options available for wrinkle removal. While not as long lasting as plastic surgery (facelifts) they do offer a solution for the short term, with fewer risks. If wrinkles are a concern, discuss these options with your dermatologist.

Botox
Botox injections have been in use about 10 years for the short-term treatment of fines lines and wrinkles in the face. Botox works by relaxing the muscles and making the line disappear. Some of the common areas treated include crow's feet, frown lines, laugh lines, and forehead wrinkles. The effects of Botox usually last about 3 - 6 months and can then be repeated. Although Botox is a protein toxin produced by the clostridium botulinum bacteria it is injected in such small amounts that its effects remain localized. It has very few side effects

Collagen
Collagen is a natural protein that acts as the support structure of the skin. In young skin, the collagen framework is intact and the skin remains moisturized and elastic. Over time, however, the support structure weakens and the skin loses elasticity. Dermatologists have used injectable bovine collagen for over 25 years. Used primarily as a tissue filler to soften lines around the mouth, it has also been used successfully to augment lips, correct the early degrees of muscle loss around the mouth associated with aging, and erase acne scars. Like Botox its effects are temporary and normally last about 3-4 months. About 10% of the population is allergic to bovine collagen, so skin tests must be done before it can be used for wrinkle removal.

Fat
Autologous fat transfer is a wrinkle filler procedure in which fat is removed from one part of the body, such as the thighs, buttocks or stomach, via tumescent liposuction and used to fill in deeper wrinkles and contour the "hills and valleys" associated with aging. Since a patient's own fat is used in the procedure, there are no allergic reactions associated with this type of filler. This is a more involved procedure because fat is removed from one part of the body and added to another. The results are not permanent, as loss of facial subcutaneous fat is a natural part of the aging process, no matter where that fat originated.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid is a soft tissue filler that has been used with much success in Canada and Europe. It is being studied in the United States but has not yet received FDA approval. Hyaluronic acid is a gel that is actually a natural occurring and basic component of human skin. The gel serves to "float" the skin cells rather than fill in vacant wrinkles, which makes hyaluronic acid suitable for larger folds of skin around the mouth and cheeks. Studies show a low incidence of allergic reaction and with longer action. Results tend to last up to six to nine months.

Overall these procedures carry much lower risk than surgery. These procedures are considered cosmetic, with no health benefits (other than to self-esteem) and generally not covered by insurance or Medicare.

Effective Anti-Aging Skincare Treatment

A good anti-aging treatment regimen can make a huge difference in the appearance of aging facial skin.

Your appearance and your sense of well-being are linked. Every woman wants to look great and feel good about herself. This desire can be fufilled through an effective anti aging treatment regimen, one that will leave you with a clear, radiant, vibrant, and healthy skin.

In our society, skin is a component of one's self esteem, appearance, and attraction. Your skin is the most visible part, the "you" that you show to the world. Like many other parts of your body, the facial skin requires care and attention. The most important thing that you can do to keep your skin healthy, attractive and youthful is to follow an effective anti aging treatment plan.

The first signs of aging usually show up in the face. The face is often the first tell-tale sign of one's age. The skin begins to show signs of aging between 30 and 35. As a woman advances in age, a number of physical changes gradually occur that outwardly affect the appearance of the skin: dryness, buildup of dead skin cells, and hyperpigmentation.

The softness and flexibility of the skin is dependent on its moisture and oil content. As the skin ages, there is a decreased production of oil and perspiration by the sebaceous and sweat glands, respectively. Thus, the skin becomes drier.

Because dry skin is more prone to wrinkling than oily skin, aging skin requires daily moisturizing. A moisturizing cream is essential to any anti aging treatment plan. Daily moisturizing of the skin will make it softer, vibrant, and healthier.

As a woman ages, there is an overall slowdown in the skin renewal process. Aging skin loses the ability to regenerate new youthful skin cells and to shed dead ones. A build-up of dead cells on the surface of the skin can give it a dull and lifeless appearance.

The dead cells are filled with a skin protein called keratin. Excessive deposits of keratin on the skin's surface can make it rough. The skin can take on a sand paper appearance if it is neglected for a long period of time.

An exfoliating cleanser is essential to an anti aging treatment regimen. An exfoliating cleanser can effectively remove the build-up of dead cells from aging skin. After the dead cells are scrubbed from the skin's surface, immediately left under it is a revitalized, radiant, healthier, and a more youtful appearing skin.

In addition, exfoliation is good skin hygiene. An exfoliating cleanser removes impurities and dead cells from the surface of the skin. Periodic exfoliation can greatly improve the appearance of aging skin.

Increased skin pigmentation is also associated with aging. Melanocytes are specialized skin cells that produce a pigment called melanin. As the skin ages, splotching occurs. Splotching is due to an uneven deposition of pigment in the outer skin. The skin is no longer a uniform color when compared to the skin of a young healthy adult.

A skin lightener is essential to an anti aging treatment regimen. A skin lightener smooths out skin tones and splotches. They also improve the clarity and radiance of aging skin.

A skin cream containing vitamin C can effectively reduce the hyperpigmentation associated with aging skin and unify skin color. Vitamin C reduces hyperpigmentation of the skin by decreasing the production of melanin by the melanocytes.

An effective anti-aging treatment plan does not have to be elaborate, expensive or time consuming. A basic anti aging treatment regimen should include an exfoliating cleanser, a moisturizing cream containing an antioxidant vitamin, and a skin lightener.

Make Your Skin Younger

Nobody wants to look old before their time. In fact, most of us don't want to look old even when it is our time! Fortunately, there have been many advances in skin care technology, so that it's now possible to have fresh, supple, younger-looking skin no matter what your age.

Healthy Skin
It's true -- With antiaging skin care treatment, the young, beautiful, vibrant skin, which can make you look a decade younger than you actually are, is within reach. Really, no matter what your starting point, you can dramatically improve the appearance and feel of your skin.

Line Erasing
What brings on wrinkles? By the time we hit our 30s, our bodies stop producing as much of this good stuff and we even start to naturally lose our supply. External factors, such as sunlight and pollution, accelerate this breakdown. The end result: the appearance of that little line on your face.

So,we need some antiaging skin care treatments! Use a sunscreen every day, even in the winter and even when you're indoors or in the car, as the sun's rays can penetrate through glass. Boost this protective effect with a moisturizer that contains antioxidants, as they help fight off the damage brought on by the sun; some powerful ones are vitamin C, green tea, and olive leaf concentrate, among others. Next, include a retinoid, the only ingredient clinically proven to increase your skin's collagen production, into your daily regimen. You can either ask your dermatologist for a prescription-strength formula, such as Renova, or choose from the many over-the-counter products that contain retinol.

Firm and Fabulous
When describing young, beautiful, sexy skin, the word "firm" is probably high on your list of must-haves.Well-hydrated skin also appears firmer. The most potent ingredient of antiaging used today is hyaluronic acid, a sugar found in our skin that is capable of holding 1,000 times its own weight in water. Many companies have duplicated hyaluronic acid and are using it in their new antiaging skincare products to plump up sagging cheeks and to fill in fine lines. It's a very important ingredient that restores water to aged skin.

Hyaluronic acid: Found naturally in our skin and depleted over time, this ingredient actually draws moisture from the environment into the skin, resulting in a plumper-looking complexion.

Yeast extract: This ingredient is used in many "lifting" creams to temporarily smooth the skin.

How does Smoking Make Your Skin Age?

Smoking fasts your skin aging process. Why? It has been scientifically approved that smoking can accelerate the normal aging process of your skin, contributing to wrinkles. Skin ages from smoking can be visible in young adults who have a history of smoking for as few as 10 years.

The Inside Reasons:

Doctor says smoking causes narrowing of the blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin. As a result, it decreases blood flow, depleting the skin of oxygen and nutrients, such as vitamin A, which are factors that increase damage to the elastic fibers (elastin) and collagen that give your skin strength and elasticity.

The Outside Reasons:

In addition, the repetitive facial expressions you make when smoking — such as pursing your lips when inhaling and squinting your eyes to keep out smoke — may contribute to wrinkles. It's also possible that repeated exposure to the heat from burning cigarettes might damage your facial skin over time.

4 Steps of Basic Skin Treatment

Skin care is more than just a skill; it is an art,n which ca be learned by any of us. All you need is a professional guidance and proper understanding of the basic skin treatment steps. It is good to start from the basic.

First step is to determine your skin type.

Remember, there is no magic potions that can make your wrinkles, spots and pimples disappear overnight. But there is a way to make your skin look younger and healthier.

No matter whom you’d go for, dermatologists, cosmetologists and beauty therapists will all tell you the fact that the only way of avoiding problems and delaying the ageing process is taking care of skin regularly. The 4 basic steps are: cleanse, tone, moisturize and nourish your skin everyday. It takes only 7 days before you are amazed to see the results. The skin is tremendously recharged by the self-regeneration when properly cared for. It is never too late to start.

Cleansing

Whatever texture or type of your skin, it requires thorough cleansing twice a day. If we could have a look at unclean skin through a magnifying glass, we would realize the absolute necessity of a proper cleansing routine. Before it is cleansed, the skin surface is covered by a film of dirt, stale sweat, oil deposits, stale make-up and other pollutants. All these are potent skin irritants. They not only upset the normal balance of the skin, but also hamper its natural functions.

Choose a facial cleanser according to your skin type. Splash your face with water, and apply with a gentle facial cleanser and work it up to lather for about 30 seconds. Take the opportunity to lightly massage your skin, as this will boost the supply of blood to the surface of your skin - which means a rosier complexion. Rinse away with clear water until every soapy trace has been completely removed from your skin. Then towel off the residual water from the surface of your skin.

Toning

Toning is a must for all skin types. Toning immediately after cleansing helps to refresh the skin. Here is a tip for toning the skin, keep cotton wool pads soaking in a bowl of toner in the refrigerator, wipe after cleansing the skin, and then pad the skin briskly. It will stimulate the blood circulation to the surface. Gentle stroking movements can also be followed.

Moisturizing

Moisturizing is the most important step of the skin care routine. Smooth your skin with moisturizers, either lotions or creams. Dot a small potion onto your face, massage in with your fingertips with gentle upwards-outwards strokes. The protective film on the skin allows applying make-up easily and ensures there is balanced moisture content.

Nourishing

Nourishing can hold moisture better and performs its other functions. Creams with Vitamin A is of utmost importance to the skin helping to relieve dryness and maintain skin elasticity and creams with Vitamin E (anti-oxidant) helps in minimizing cross-linking damage.

Vitamin C and Your Skin

To be useful and effective to the body and skin care, vitamin C should be in the form of L-ascorbic acid. Studies reveal that once it is applied on the skin, It can stay in the skin for up to seventy two hours.

Vitamin C and Melanogenesis

Research show that vitamin c help decrease melanin formation. The fact that melanin is responsible for the skin’s dark pigmentation, studies clearly show that vitamin c contributes to skin lightening.

A preparation can be used to clarify and even out the skin tone as it lightens dark spots and skin blemishes.

Vitamin C and sun protection

By neutralizing free radicals, the exceedingly reactive molecules created by the sunlight, cell membranes and other components of skin tissue’s interaction. Be it clear though, that it has no capacity to absorb light, so it is not a sunscreen and should never be a substitute or a replacement to sunscreen; it is however good applying it alongside a sunscreen product.

Sun Protection Tips

You probably have known how important sun protection is to prevent skin cancer. Enjoy your time outdoor if you follow our tips here:

Don’t be afraid of wasting sunscreen; apply it to allover your exposed skin.
Choose a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 and broad- spectrum. Reapply every two hours during daytime, even on cloudy days, and after swimming or perspiring.
Better wear protective clothing e.g. a long-sleeved shirt, pants, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses to cover as much skin as possible for those have a higher risk of developing skin cancer.
Seek shade between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., cause the sun’s rays are strongest during that period of the day.
Use higher SPF protections when on activities on water, snow, and sand since these situations reflect the damaging rays of the sun to your skin.
Applying sunscreen on children is particularly important.
Instead of the sun, intake vitamin D safely from a healthy diet that includes vitamin supplements. Vitamin D is found in the following foods:
o Dairy products
o Fish
o Oysters
o Fortified cereals
Get tan by using a self-tanning product instead of tanning beds. UV light of tanning beds causes skin cancer and wrinkling as much as that from the sun. Don’t forget using sunscreen everyday.
Go to a dermatologist whenever there is situation on your skin. Skin cancer is very treatable when caught early.

Make Men's Skin Healthy

How to Make Men's Skin Healthy

If the effects of late nights, smoking, poor diet or stress are showing on your skin, now's your chance to kick start a regime to get it back in shape. For skin that's supple, fit and glowing with health follow our skin detox regime.

Firstly the difficult bit:
Cut down, or better still give up alcohol for at least a week if not a month.

Increase your water intake to flush out toxins and improve kidney function. Keep a bottle of mineral water close by to regularly top up. Keeping hydrated makes a huge difference to your skin.

Check your diet and make sure you are getting 5 pieces of fruit or veg a day. A short cut is to stick some favourite fruits such as banana, pear, strawberries, blueberries etc with some yoghurt and honey into a blender and make a smoothie for breakfast. Also try to cut down on salt and saturated fat where you can.

Try to get some early nights - sleep does your whole body the power of good.

If you're a couch potato introduce some exercise into your life. (Put the TV in another room for a week - it works!). Exercise improves the circulation to help bring oxygen and nutrients to the skin cells. It also reduces stress a major cause of wrinkles.

If you smoke STOP. Everyone knows that smoking harms the body but it also make the skin age much earlier than it biologically should.

Now the easy bit:
Give yourself a detox facial treatment once a week:

On clean shaven skin apply a little facial wash to suit your skin type. For oily or combination skin try Ahava Deep Cleansing Gel For Men 3.4 oz.. For skin with acne pronlem try Hydroviton.CR Liquid Normalizing Facial Soap and for sensitive skin try Truefitt & Hill Skin Control Daily Facial Cleanser. Massage it into the skin firmly. This will increase the circulation and bring nutrients to the skin cells. Rinse it off thoroughly with running water.

Apply a little facial scrub and massage over the entire face but do not rub too hard. For oily or combination skin try Robanda Exfoliating Facial Wash or Anthony Sport Face Scrub 6 oz.. Rinse off with running water. Blot the skin dry and apply a face mask over the face and neck avoiding the eyes and lips. Add a gel eye mask such as Gel Filled Eye Mask over the eye lids to reduce puffiness and drain toxins from under the eyes. Leave for 10 minutes and rinse the face mask off with running water.

Blot the skin dry and apply a little moisturiser. Massage this well into the skin using firm movements to increase the circulation.

Daily care to keep up the good work:

Use a high quality facial wash to clean your skin and remove impurities both in the morning and the night.

Use a protective moisturiser after shaving to keep your skin supple and fit.
Shave with a cream or gel that moisturises your skin and doesn't dry it out.
Use an eye cream or gel to protect the skin around the eyes.

Daily Skin Care for Men

A simple and basic regimen for skin that looks and feels great everyday:
1. Cleanse

Cleanse once a day to remove impurities, sweat and oily deposits. Repeat at night for oily or acne-prone skin.

Avoid soaps and harsh cleansers with added fragrance or color.

Choose a cleanser with glycolic and salicylic acid to remove dead skin cells and organic debris that cannot be removed by regular cleansers.

Exfoliate
This step should become part of your basic routine. It is the fastest way to revitalize your appearance and deep-cleanse your skin.

It is an excellent way to prepare for shaving, as it raises stubs and opens pores for a closer shave. It can help treat and prevent ingrown hairs and other problems.

Don't overdo the intensity of the scrubbing. Avoid exfoliating after exposure to the sun.

Exfoliating your entire body will give your skin and muscles a healthy, buffed appearance.

Shave
Be very picky about your shaving products-most products are just foam and don't provide sufficient lubrication.

For best results, shave while in the shower or immediately thereafter.

Don't skip using a serious post-shave treatment with anti-inflammatory ingredients. It accelerates healing, softens, and prevents infection, ingrown hairs and acne.

Moisturize
An oil-free or light moisturizer is best. Apply after showering to lock in moisture.

It is a good idea to reapply moisturizer at bedtime, especially in winter ordrier climates.
Look for "true" moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid or glycerin. These substances absorb water from the atmosphere and transfer it to the skin.

The skin around your eyes is the thinnest and most delicate and requires special attention. Use a product specially designed for this area.

Repair
Be realistic. Resolving skin problems requires patience and discipline.

Make sure you use products with proven efficacy.

It is easier to prevent than to repair. Avoid irritating ingredients, as these will debilitate your skin and its ability to renew itself.

Harmful Ingredients In Cosmetics

Organic skin care and mineral makeup are getting more and more popular all over the world, still some of us might not want to ditch out all the chemical-based products. That's why it is essential to know what are the harmful ingredients in cosmetics. This brief list will help you in avoiding any contact with these factors.

The best advice would be to carefully read those labels. You'll never know how your organism reacts to these chemicals. In fact manufacturers use these carcinogens since these are cheaper than organic ingredients.

Paraben Preservatives

Used mainly in the production of deodorants, skin care products and other cosmetics as preservatives. Often causing allergies and breakouts, these toxins are extremely dangerous.

As one of the most important cancer-causing ingredients these have a harmful effect on our health. You're highly recommended to avoid products that contain parabens.

Polyethylene Glycol (PEG)

Cosmetic industry use it to thicken the texture of skin care products.
It was demonstrated that getting in contact with our skin it can jam up the natural oils of the skin; it has also premature aging effect and makes our complexion prone to infections and allergies.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)

Dental care products, shampoos, body cleansers and foaming facials often contain this ingredient. It can easily cause long-term damages in our organism.

Due to the fact that it is absorbed by our skin extremely quickly it has a harmful influence on our lungs, brain as well as heart. Keep away from cosmetics rich in SLS to stay healthy.

Isopropyl Alcohol

Several skin and body care products contain isoprophyl alcohol, used mainly as a solvent solution. Even though these products are highly promoted, this tiny ingredient still can gradually strip our skin from the the natural acid layer.

Consequently our pores become prone to irritation and bacteria. After repeated use of these products you might even experience the visible signs of skin aging.

Mineral Oil

Different lotions, makeup removers as well as lipsticks contain this chemical. Since it's a petroleum-based solution our skin struggles with the absorption process.

Often associated with skin problems, it can clog pores and cause infections and inflammations. It covers the skin to a degree that it doesn't allow the skin to breathe.

Summer Skin Care Routine Tips

Summer is here and knowing how to care for our skin is very important.
Heat causes pores to soften, so the dirt and sweat get inside the pores easily. Dirt and makeup that clog up pores can cause skin problems, breakouts, pimples, acne and aged skin.

To take proper care of your skin you need to know your skin type and take care of it daily.

Cleanse your face once a day, preferably at night before you go to bed, with a good cleanser.
Try not to use regular soap to clean your face because soap might cause your skin to dry and flake. Use lukewarm water to wash away the dirt and makeup.

Exfoliate once a week to remove all the dead skin cells that are building up. Dead skin cells might cause the pores to clog which lead to the appearance of pimples and blemishes.
Moisturize the skin no matter what type of skin you have, except for acne-prone skin that needs special treatment.

Use products that are especially designed for your skin type.

When your skin feels tight that means it lacks moisture.
Moisturizing daily can help the skin maintain it's elasticity and healthy look.
Sunscreen is a must in your summer skin care routine. You can use face creams which have UV protection factor.
Sun can cause premature aging even if it's cloudy outside. The sun's UV rays penetrate the clouds so you need to be protected. UV rays can cause sunburns, age spots and can trigger skin cancer so don't leave without having sunscreen on.

Simple Tips to Help Keep Your Face Looking Younger

As you get older and older, you gain wisdom and a few wrinkles to go along with it. However, there are tips below that can help prevent those unwanted wisdom lines aka wrinkles.

Sunglasses and Sunscreen
The sun is the number one influencer of wrinkles and other abnormalities that make someone look older such as blotchiness, liver spots, broken blood vessels, dryness, and sun related skin diseases.

So, a very inexpensive way to prevent fine lines is protecting yourself from the harmful rays of the sun with a facial sunscreen and sunglasses. In the morning before you even put on your make up, put a SPF 15 facial moisturizer sunscreen on your face all year round and even during the winter when the sun is rarely shining.

Just because the sun is hiding behind the clouds, it still emits harmful UV rays. Before you leave the house, equip yourself with sunglasses that block out the UV rays. Make sure when you purchase sunglasses that it has UV ray protection because not all sunglasses have this feature.

Don’t Smoke
Smoking in general has negative effects for the body and even contributes to wrinkles. In fact, smoking constricts the skin tissue from receiving oxygen and nutrients which causes a pasty complexion and premature wrinkles.

Water
By keeping the skin hydrated, soft, and moist, water is nature’s fountain of youth. The average person needs six to eight glass of water each day especially during workouts and for the hot weather. On the contrary, soda, tea, coffee, juice, and alcohol can not be substituted for water. In fact, alcohol is the worst to drink since it dehydrates and robs the skin of essential minerals and nutrients similar to smoking.

Ironically, water has other benefits besides from reducing wrinkles such as suppressing appetites and getting rid of waste material. It is a good idea to always keep a bottle of water handy.

Anti-Aging Skin Care
If you have a few wrinkles on your face and you want to get rid of them, you can try Jevene anti-wrinkle cream, which reduces the appearance of wrinkles and age spots, penetrates and moisturizes your skin even deep below the skin surface. It is a safe alternative to painful Botox injections.

Skin Lightening Treatment

Many skin lightening treatment products contain hydroquinone which destroy melanin. It is responsible for pigmentation and protection from cancer-causing ultraviolet rays of the sun. Everyone has melanin. The only difference is how much do they have. The more melanin in your skin, the darker your complexion will be.

Hydroquinone is a white crystalline de-pigmenting agent. When used in large concentrations, it can kill you. You may experience nausea, shortness of breath, convulsions and delirium. Prolonged use can likely lead to the irreversible skin damage such as wrinkles, severe acne, and marks.

Recently, many skin lightening products limit the concentration of hydroquinone to 2%. However, many consumers use too much prescribed skin lightening creams which contain low doses of hydroquinone to treat uneven pigmentation. This has caused them to suffer some side effects.

Many dermatologists and skin care experts aggressively promote skin lightening creams which they claim can even out cosmetic conditions such as vitiligo, liver spots, and other superficial blemishes. But these creams contain high level of hydroquinone. Many studies have substantiated that hydroquinone is not safe for skin bleaching. Moreover, it increases the risk of

* cancer
* adrenal gland problems
* all health conditions related to mercury poisoning
* developing a unusual metabolic disorder called ochronosis, which result in physical changes to the skin and tissues surrounding the eyes, ears, and joints

There are alternatives to hydroquinone when treating dark spots, hyperpigmentation, freckles, and melasma. Below is the list of botanical drugs that are now being widely used in many skin care preparations.

Arbutin is a plant-based hydroquinone. Wheat products, pears, coffee, tea and leaves of certain fruits such as cranberries, blueberries, and mulberries contain this natural melanin inhibiting compound. It disrupts the reactions that cause the natural process of melanin. A study in the Journal of Dermatological Science reported that arbutin is less effective than niacinamide or kojic acid in inhibiting the production of melanin.

Ascorbic acid or vitamin C has demonstrated its ability in lightening the skin. Studies show that after three months of treatment of using a combination of ascorbic acid and lactic acid, the skin of victims with medium to dark skin tones improved noticeably.

Kojic Acid is a by-product from the manufaturing of sake (Japanese rice wine). If your skin cannot tolerate hydroquinone, then you can consider kojic acid. Nervertheless, it has raised some health concerns.

Glutathione is an antioxidant. Our body produce glutathione witht the aid of a selenium and protein balanced diet. The International Journal of Cosmetic Science claims that it is an effective skin lightening ingredient. However, no one has established the standard amount of glutathione for skin lightening.

Grape seed extract has the potential to be a natural skin lightening compound. Researchers in Nago City, Japan observed the reversible action of skin darkening due to ultraviolet exposure that when they fed their guinea pigs with foods that have 1% grape seed extract. However, the same dosage did not have similar results with pigs.

The next time when you look for skin lightening treatment, make sure you go for natural. It is safe for your skin. Unlike mercury or hydroquinone, you don’t have to take the risk of developing cancer.

For more safer skin bleaching, visit this skin lightening treatment site that provides valuable information on how to eliminate age spots, freckles, hyperpigmentation and melasma without side effects.

Honey and Skincare Recipes

Did you know that even many centuries ago, honey was a noted facial skin care product that's an important part of the skin care treatment and even hair care of legendary beauties? Cleopatra was known to bathe herself in milk and honey. Poppea, the wife of Nero, used honey and milk as facial lotion. It helped to keep her looking youthful.

The nectar collected from the flowers is transformed into honey to dress upon some of the most mouth-watering desserts. With the passage of time honey has continued to be one of the main ingredients for skin care. It has maintained its importance due to the beneficial factors. The healing capacity of honey is stupendous making it one of the favorite components for home remedies. Honey has many good properties like magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium, chlorine, sulfur, iron and phosphate. It contains vitamins like B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3. Effective Wrincle creams

How effective is the product you use?
The topical wrinkle reducing product market is exploding. It generated over $1.5 Billion in sales in 2007, with that number expected to double by 2010. You do not have to look far to hear about these types of products. There is huge interest in this market and advertisements can be found everywhere, from TV, to radio, newspapers and magazines. While the majority of these products are marketed to female consumers, surprisingly, our research indicates that men account for approximately 25% of this market. It seems that women are no longer the only gender searching for the fountain of youth.
Treatments and products once only provided by dermatologists are now accessible to consumers. There are over 200 products currently marketed to remedy the signs of aging, from Botox alternatives to alpha-hydroxy serums and wrinkle relaxers. These products range in cost from under $10 to over $300 per ounce. How does the consumer determine which products are effective? How does the consumer determine which product is right for them?
In this article we offer our readers a comprehensive list of anti-wrinkle products based on our evaluations. We reviewed the over 200 products currently available for the treatment of wrinkles. Our assessment included review of the following product attributes: long term effectiveness for wrinkle reduction; instant reduction of fine lines and wrinkles; antioxidant protective properties delaying skin cell aging; skin renewal and collagen stimulating properties; and skin smoothing and firming properties. Based on the outcome of our evaluation of these product attributes we ranked each product accordingly.
Our list is presented in descending order based upon the cumulative score of product attributes. You may not see the product you use, or are interested in using, on this list as it did not rank in the top 25. Our list is dynamic in that we are constantly reexamining and updating our rankings due to the availability of new products.
During our research, the skin care specialists we consulted provided useful tips that contribute to achieving and maintaining younger looking skin, including the following:
Be certain to consistently apply the product(s) you choose in accordance with its directions for use;
Pay special attention to your neck and hands while applying the product(s) you choose, as these areas reflect your age;
Always use sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of at least 15;
Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to stay well hydrated;
Avoid excessive intake of caffeinated and alcoholic beverages, as they may contribute to dehydration and exacerbate the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; and
Be sure to get adequate rest every day.

Strawberry Facial Mask

Strawberries make a wonderful cleansing and skin softening facial mask because they contain salicylic acid—which rids the skin of dead cells, allowing it to absorb moisture and look healthy and radiant. Salicylic acid is also a key ingredient in many commercial acne creams, making this facial mask a natural cure for summertime breakouts.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup fresh strawberries
1 tablespoon fresh milk
1 tablespoon rice flour or cornstarch

Directions:
Mash together all the ingredients to make a smooth paste. Spread over your face and neck and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat your skin dry.

Note: Four ounces, enough for one or two strawberry facial masks.
